Paul W. Bryant Stampede sets track records

At the Alabama High School Athletic Association state track and field championships on Tuesday, Harrison Dudley of Paul W. Bryant High School won the Class 5A 400-meter dash in 48.68 seconds. His time set a new state record, bettering Hunter Hawkins of Walker’s 2012 record time of 49.97.

Dudley set a Class 5A 60-meter dash record in the preliminary race on Monday, tying his career-best of 6.99 seconds to beat the old mark of 7.00 set by Kyler Towner of St. Paul’s Episcopal in 2012.

The Stampede’s 4x400 relay team also set a 5A state record with its winning time of 3:25.71.
