BOYS ROUNDUP: South Lamar remains unbeaten

MILLPORT | South Lamar extended its season-opening win streak to 12 games Saturday as the Stallions defeated Lamar County 61-57 to win its own South Lamar Tournament.
Jydarren Cox led the offense with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Holden Fields also had a double-double in the win with 17 points and a team-leading 12 rebounds.
Lamar County had three players score in double figures — Bryce Myles with 16 points, Austin Spann with 15 and Joshua Smith with 10.
Caledonia beat Hatley (Miss.) 48-39 in the consolation final. Hatley will return to Millport on Thursday to play a regular-season game against South Lamar.
Sipsey Valley 65, Northridge 55
HOOVER | Sipsey Valley’s Garret Lewis led all scorers with 18 points at the Big Orange Classic in Hoover.
It was the first win for Class 3A Sipsey Valley over a Class 6A opponent. The Bears were 0-4 against Class 6A teams before the win over the Jaguars.
Rasheed Worrell had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jamarius Leatherwood had 14 points. Isaiah Blackmon had nine assists.
Northridge was led by Marquis Gray with 13 points. Shamarcus Kennedy had 12 and Chris Golston had 11.
Sipsey Valley (12-5) will play at Pickens County on Jan. 4.
Fayette County 50, Sulligent 43
FAYETTE | Fayette County won a make-up game against Sulligent.
The Tigers were led by Will Redmond with 22 points. Keyon Jones scored eight points and Dee Nalls had seven.
Fayette County (4-6) returns to play on Jan. 3 against Pickens County.
ACA 51, Albertville 37
ALBERTVILLE | ACA’s win came in the consolation bracket at the 16-team tournament hosted by Albertville High School.
In its win against the host team, the Patriots’ Carter McGill scored 21 points and Blake Sanderson 11.
ACA (8-6) is off today but will play Hokes Bluff on Monday for fifth place in the tournament.
Addison 57, Berry 55 (OT)
ARLEY | Kaleb Estill scored 20 points to lead Addison past Berry in overtime in the consolation game at the Smith Lake Invitational.
Berry had two double-figure scorers — Weston Bonner with 24 and Terrance Hollingsworth with 12.
Berry (3-7) will play at home Friday at 5 p.m. against Holy Spirit.
Southern Academy 61, Cahawba Christian 46
SELMA | Hunter Clements scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Cougars’ win in the Morgan Academy Christmas Classic. Dylan Bamberg and Clayton Hall both scored 13.
Will Tabor led Cahawba Christian with 13 points. Blake Dodson contributed 10.
Southern Academy (4-7) will play Friday at home against Southern Choctaw Academy.
