ROUNDUP: Fayette County defeats Greene County 39-20

FAYETTE | Drew Guy completed 7-of-7 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns as the Fayette County Tigers defeated Greene County 39-20 Friday night in a Class 3A, Region 3 game.

Guy threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to JaTevin Madison in the first quarter and a 1-yard scoring pass to Grant Eason in the third.

Madison finished with two receptions for 116 yards.

Kyle Nalls scored on runs of 6 and 3 yards for the Tigers, while backup quarterback Hunter Walker threw touchdown passes to Kondarius Wilson and Kyle Redmond.

Fayette County led 33-0 at halftime.

Jeremy Mobley and Rashaan Woodard each had a touchdown run for Greene County, and Denzel Davis threw a 33-yard scoring pass to Devin Woods.

Fayette County (5-1, 4-0) travels to Holt next Friday, while Greene County (1-5, 1-3) travels to Sipsey Valley.

Hubbertville 27,

South Lamar 0

HUBBERTVILLE | T.J. Pratt rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown and the Hubbertville Lions held the South Lamar Stallions to just 117 yards of total offense.

The Lions led 13-0 at halftime on a 1-yard run by Landon Miller and a 32-yard pass from Vess Benton to Jordan White.

Pratt scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter and Dax Benton added a 9-yard touchdown run in the fourth.

Nathan Young led the Lion defense with 10 tackles, including three for a loss.

Hubbertville (5-1 overall, 3-1 Class 1A, Region 5) travels to Pickens County next Friday, while South Lamar (2-4, 1-3) hosts Marion County.

Akron 26, Sunshine 20

NEWBERN | Deontay White rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns as the Akron Rams held off the Sunshine Tigers in a Class 1A, Region 3 showdown.

Sunshine jumped out to an early 8-0 first-quarter lead, before Akron reeled off 26 unanswered points. White had touchdown runs of 8 and 21 yards during the scoring spree. The Rams also added a safety and a 10-yard touchdown run by Johnny Tubbs.

Sunshine tried to rally with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but Tubbs ended the final threat from the Tigers with a late interception.

DeQuan Bryant led the Akron defense with four tackles, two assists and one sack. Akron (3-3, 2-2) travels to Keith next Friday, while Sunshine (2-4, 0-4) travels to Holy Spirit.

Greensboro 36, Holt 6

The Greensboro Raiders won their second game of the season with an easy victory over the winless Holt Ironmen in a Class 3A, Region 3 matchup.

The Ironmen scored their only touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 26-yard pass from Javonte Brooks to Marquise Jenkins.

Holt (0-6, 0-4) hosts Fayette County next Friday, while Greensboro (2-4, 2-2) hosts American Christian Academy.

Russell Christian 55,

Tuscaloosa Christian 28

MERIDIAN, Miss. | Gabe Foster scored two touchdowns for the Tuscaloosa Christian Warriors as they lost to Russell Christian in eight-man football action.

Foster scored on runs of 24 and 91 yards.

Hunter Sample added a 67-yard touchdown run for the Warriors and David Pearce caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Waddell.

Tuscaloosa Christian (3-4) hosts New Life Academy Thursday night.
