VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Sipsey Valley gets 3-0 win over ACA

BUHL | Sipsey Valley defeated American Christian Academy 3-0 in high school volleyball action Tuesday, winning 25-14, 25-14 and 25-9.

DeAmber Henderson led the Bears (7-0) in aces with seven and kills with nine. Millie Sartain had 20 assists and Julie Morris had three blocks. Meagan Scott had four digs.

Sipsey Valley will host Northside at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.


TA wins three straight

EUTAW | Tuscaloosa Academy defeated Sumter Academy 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14.

Game leaders included Rachael Fincher with 25 assists, Carlie Cochran with 10 aces and three blocks, Kaci Cochran with 14 digs and 11 kills, and Shelby Curry with 13 digs.

Tuscaloosa Academy (10-1) plays Thursday at Coosa Valley Academy.

TCHS get 3-0 win

BESSEMER | Tuscaloosa County High defeated Bessemer City in three straight games, 25-4, 25-9 and 25-16.

Katie Burnett had 11 kills and Sarah Chappell had 10. Peyton Black had seven digs. Briana Chappell had seven aces and 24 assists.

TCHS (7-7) plays Thursday at Brookwood.


TC Warriors get 3-1 win

Tuscaloosa Christian defeated Victory Christian of Columbus, Miss., 3-1 with scores of 25-11, 22-25, 25-22 and 25-4.

For the Warriors, Alayna Marchant had 13 kills and six aces, Anna Rice had 11 kills, Sydney Marks had 28 assists, and Samantha Wright had 10 digs.

In a Monday match, Tuscaloosa Christian defeated Southern Academy 25-18, 24-26, 25-12 and 25-21.

The Warriors (17-7) play Thursday at home against Marion Academy.
