When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Hillcrest allowed a touchdown run in overtime in a 14-11 loss to Hartselle. Khalil Hargrove scored Hillcrest’s touchdown as Jalen Choice blocked a punt. Northridge’s Lavares Howard had a touchdown run in the second quarter, but the Jaguars lost to Bob Jones 48-20.

Jackson-Olin (1-0) at Tuscaloosa County (1-0)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Derrick Burns had a touchdown run, and Seth Franks threw a scoring pass to Allen Cooks in Tuscaloosa County’s 13-6 victory over Mountain Brook. The touchdown pass came after Parker Montgomery blocked a punt. Linebacker DeWunya Topps forced two fumbles. Tuscaloosa County moved from No. 7 to No. 6 in the Class 6A poll. Jackson-Olin beat Woodlawn 13-7.

Breakdown: Devonta Jenkins scored on a 1-yard run as Brookwood defeated Hale County 7-0. Jay Buffer led Brookwood with 77 yards rushing on 23 carries. Anthony McCostlin intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter. Fairfield beat Ramsay 40-12

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Central’s Vincent Davis threw three touchdown passes in a 51-18 win over Sipsey Valley. Leonard Tyree had two touchdown receptions, and Robert Bates had one. David Robinson scored on a 93-yard kickoff return. Christopher Lee, Gregory Davis and Kaliex Turner accounted for touchdowns. Parker beat Carver of Birmingham 53-20.

Demopolis (1-0) at Citronelle (1-0)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Demopolis rushed for 314 yards in a 35-0 win over American Christian Academy. Roderick Davis ran for two scores, and Demetrius Kemp, Cortez Lewis and Drew Jones each had a rushing touchdown. Demopolis is ranked No. 8 in Class 5A. Citronelle beat McIntosh 54-34.

Breakdown: Paul W. Bryant allowed 294 total yards and 256 rushing yards in a 28-0 loss to Pelham. McAdory, No. 1 in Class 5A, beat Tarrant 49-13.

Breakdown: Sumter Central, under the direction of new coach Dre’Mail King, opened with a 60-20 loss to Bessemer City. Saraland beat Faith Academy 52-12.

Carbon Hill at Bibb County (1-0)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Bibb County’s T.J. Lockett scored on a 1-yard run in overtime in a 20-14 win over Greensboro. Lockett gained 78 yards on 16 carries. T.J. Bell, who rushed for 79 yards, had a pair of 3-yard touchdown runs. Justin Dedrick gained 104 yards on 27 carries. Carbon Hill lost to Curry 42-14.

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: West Blocton’s Jake Vick had touchdown runs of 17 and 10 yards in a 26-20 loss to Vincent. Evan Vick, who scored on a 1-yard run, gained 92 yards on 15 carries. Corner lost to Munford 27-6.

American Chr. Acad. (0-1) at Greene County (0-1)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: ACA’s Will Sullivan and Nelson Brown each recovered a fumble in the loss to Demopolis. ACA was held to 67 total yards. Greene County’s Denzel Davis threw two touchdown passes to Adrian Tyree and one to Devin Woods in a 20-18 loss to Akron.

Fayette County (0-1) at Greensboro (0-1)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: JaTevin Madison, an All-State selection last year, ran for a score and caught a touchdown pass from Nathaniel Guy in Fayette County’s 18-13 loss to Pickens County. Fayette County is No. 8 in Class 3A. Jerome Franks, a former Fayette County player, is the new coach at Greensboro. Tyrez McCain scored on a 52-yard interception return, and Cedrick Tabb caught a 79-yard touchdown pass in the loss to Bibb County.

Gordo (1-0) at Sipsey Valley (0-1)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Malcolm Nicholson scored on an 8-yard run and a 69-yard kickoff return in Gordo’s 43-26 win over Aliceville. Devin Prude, who kicked a field goal, caught two touchdown passes from Lane Moss, who completed 9 of 15 passes for 153 yards. Alijah Latham ran for two touchdowns. Garret Lewis threw touchdown passes to Markeith Gray and Caleb Kuykendall, and Jamarius Leatherwood had a touchdown run in Sipsey Valley’s loss to Central.

Breakdown: Northside’s Justin Beck rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-28 loss to Berry. A.J. Travis scored two touchdowns for Northside. Holt had 50 yards in total offense in a 69-0 loss to Calera, which is ranked No. 1 in Class 4A. Sophomore Javonte Brooks, playing his first game at quarterback, accounted for Holt’s longest gain with a 26-yard run.

Breakdown: Winfield won its opener with new coach David McKinney as Xavier McCollum rushed for 151 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 19-0 victory over Brilliant. McCollum had eight solo tackles and five assists. Nathan Dean completed 6 of 12 passes for 70 yards. Dean threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Zac Hallmark. Winston County lost to Lynn 47-38

Aliceville (0-1) at Hale County (0-1)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Freshman quarterback Santiago Taylor threw four touchdown passes in the loss to Gordo. Taylor completed 12 of 34 passes for 220 yards with three interceptions. Taylor threw scoring passes of 9 yards to S.J. Washington, 72 to Joe Robinson, 80 to Christopher Crowell and 4 to Washington. Melvin Rox recovered a fumble, and Daniel Cox intercepted a pass for the Hale County defense in the loss to Brookwood.

R.C. Hatch (0-1) at Francis Marion (1-0)

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Kenny Mickens rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns in Francis Marion’s 30-12 win over Ellwood Christian. Michael Griffin had eight tackles, and Aaron Pryor had seven. R.C. Hatch lost to A.L. Johnson 44-14.

Breakdown: Alex Wheeler ran for 113 yards and three touchdowns in Lamar County’s 41-0 victory over South Lamar. Lamar County ran for 309 yards. Joshua Smith had eight tackles and one sack. Lamar County is No. 10 in Class 2A. Oakman, ranked No. 3, beat Parrish 29-28.

When: 7 p.m.

Breakdown: Marcus Conner scored on an 11-yard run with less than three minutes left in Akron’s comeback win over Greene County. Derion Jack, who gained 154 yards, scored Akron’s first touchdown. Deontay White had a touchdown run. Rayshawn Vaughn had five tackles. Autaugaville lost to Lanett 30-6.

Breakdown: Terrance "Tank" Hollingsworth accounted for five touchdowns in Berry’s win over Northside. He ran for three scored, returned a kickoff 97 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Weston Bonner. Blake Jones and Jeremiah Chaney had 14 tackles each. Berry is No. 8 in Class 1A. Marion County, ranked No. 1, beat Hackleburg 61-31.

Ellwood Christian (0-1) at Holy Spirit (1-0)

Breakdown: William Winters scored on a 3-yard run, and Blake Meyer caught a 92-yard touchdown pass from Chace Lake in the fourth quarter in Holy Spirit’s 13-0 win over Waterloo. Lake threw for 108 yards and ran for 39.

Breakdown: Jermarcus Brown, an All-State selection last season, had touchdown runs of 65 and 22 yards as Pickens County rallied to beat Fayette County. Deonte’ Simon caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Devonte’ Simon, who sealed the win with an interception. Pickens County is ranked No. 2 in Class 1A. Shannon McGregory debuted as South Lamar’s coach in the loss to Lamar County.

Breakdown: Dustin Jenkins gained 175 all-purpose yards as Tuscaloosa Academy beat Lee-Scott Academy 43-27. Jenkins scored on a 66-yard run, a 66-yard reception and a 5-yard run. Austin Menard threw for 134 yards. Menard threw touchdown passes to Jenkins and to Harrison Standeffer. Torrence Brown and Keonte Chambers each had a touchdown run. LWMA lost to Macon East Academy 56-0.

Breakdown: Josh Lewis ran for 116 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown, in Pickens Academy’s 24-8 win over Sparta Academy. Lewis completed 10 of 15 passes for 192 yards. Grayson Noland and Daniel Cameron each caught a touchdown pass. Cameron had five tackles and intercepted a pass. Jordan Davidson, Grant McCrary and Lewis each recovered a fumble. Austin Dirksen scored on runs of 8, 25 and 45 yards in Sumter Academy’s 47-0 win over Meadowview Christian. Nathan Williamson had two touchdown runs.
