Former Northridge High School athlete Bo Scarbrough has officially enrolled at IMG Academy, an integrated academic and athletic program in Bradenton, Fla.
Scarbrough, who is the No. 1-ranked athlete in the country, enrolled at Tuscaloosa County High School during the summer but then announced his intentions to transfer to the Florida athletics-based school last week.
Scarbrough said he remains committed to the University of Alabama. He was the Crimson Tide’s first commitment for the 2014 class.
IMG Academy is coached by former Florida State Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke.
"Coach Weinke is a great coach, and IMG Academy offers me everything I could ever need to get ready for college, and focus on football and academics equally," Scarbrough said. "The facilities, the school programs — it’s just a great fit for me to finish my high school career."
The 6-foot-2, 236-pounder is pledged to play in the 2014 Under Armour All-American game, to be held in St. Petersburg, Fla., in January 2014.
"Bo is a competitor, a hard worker and a quality young man with great character, in addition to being an outstanding player," Weinke said. "He has the ability and makeup to be as good as he wants to be at the college level at just about any position."
