ROUNDUP: Berry beats Holy Spirit


 

BERRY | Berry’s Hannah Herren pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts, six walks, and two runs on one hit to improve the Wildcats to 16-10 with an 11-2 softball win against Holy Spirit on Tuesday.

Teammate Taylor Jones hit 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Terra Gwin hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Emma Herren hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Holy Spirit’s Olivia Wyatt hit 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

 

Northridge 8, 

Sipsey Valley 0

BUHL | Northridge’s Kerri Irvin pitched two innings, striking out three with one walk and no runs on one hit to improve the Jaguars to 20-12.

Irvin hit 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Hunter Slayton hit 3-for-3 with a run scored. Sami Story hit 3-for-5 with an RBI with a run. Hannah Loper hit 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Allie Webb hit 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

 

Northside 1, Gordo 0

SAMANTHA | With the game scoreless in the sixth inning, Northside’s Haley Barnette hit a single, stole second, then scored on a passed ball that bounced over the fence to win the game and score the game’s lone run. 

Northside (24-12-1) ended the game with three hits, and Savannah Stamps (12-4) was the winning pitcher. In seven innings, she gave up one hit and one walk and no runs.

Megan Jackson had a hit for Gordo.

 

Bibb County 10, Jemison 0

CENTREVILLE | Bibb County’s Mandi Woodruff pitched six innings, accumulating 14 strikeouts with no walks and one hit to improve the Choctaws to 18-13.

Teammate Summer Hudson hit 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kara Tinkston hit 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Marena Miles hit 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

 

Tuscaloosa Academy 10-7, Autauga Academy 2-2

PRATTVILLE | Tuscaloosa Academy’s Brittany Ledbetter pitched seven innings of the first game, accumulating 10 strikeouts with two runs on four hits to improve the Knights to 20-7.

Rachael Fincher hit 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kaci Cochran hit 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Chassiti Kimbrell pitched seven innings of the second game, striking out five and giving up two runs on three hits.

Brittany Ledbetter hit a two-run home run. Rachael Fincher hit 2-for-3.

 

South Lamar 5, 

Pickens County 0

MILLPORT | South Lamar’s Daniel House threw a no-hitter in seven innings pitched, with five strikeouts and three walks to improve the Stallions to 15-6.

Teammate Jessica Wheat hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Blake Harden hit 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Anna Crowley hit 2-for-3.

 

West Blocton 7, 

Paul W. Bryant 1

WEST BLOCTON | West Blocton’s Kelsey Ard pitched a complete game, giving up one run on five hits with nine strikeouts and no walks to improve the Tigers to 16-9.

Teammate Aliyah Hill hit 1-for-1 with a triple and a run scored. Kaci Champion hit 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Chrislyn Graham hit 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Bryant’s Aubrey Hopkins hit 1-for-3 with a single run scored. Mary Elizabeth Brogden hit 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

TUSCALOOSA | Tuscaloosa Christian’s Chandler Wyatt pitched a complete game, accumulating 12 strikeouts, four hits and three walks to improve the Warriors to 7-1.

Wyatt hit 1-for-3 with an RBI. Tori Ash hit 4-for-4. Anna Rice hit 2-for-4. Lauren Bosch hit 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

SWEET WATER | Hale County’s Taylor Tashe pitched seven innings, striking out two with one walk and five hits to improve the Wildcats to 14-12-2.

Abbey Fleenor hit 3-for-4 with a double, two singles, and two runs scored. Brianna Mills hit 2-for-4 with an RBI. Savannah Holmes hit 2-for-4 with an RBI. Lexie Perry hit 2-for-3 with two singles.

 

North River Christian 11, Marion Academy 7

TUSCALOOSA | North River Christian Academy’s Kourtnie Blythe pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and one walk to improve the Chargers to 3-4.
