TCHS wins City-County softball tournament

The Tuscaloosa County High School softball team won four games Saturday to win the Tuscaloosa City-County Tournament, finishing with an 8-5 win over Brookwood in the title game.

Alisha Rainey (5-3) was the winning pitcher in the title game. She allowed eight hits, walked one and struck out nine.

Lindsey Turner was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, Jenna Ewing was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Savannah Lunceford was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Lindsey Jefferson took the loss for Brookwood. Amanda Medders was 3-for-3 at the plate and Kaitlyn Hendricks was 2-for-3.


TCHS 15, Holy Spirit 0

Katie Bundy pitched a one-hitter, striking out two and walking none. Katie Murphy had three RBIs and Ewing and Kaylyn Lary both had two RBIs.

Caitlin Kosloff took the loss for Holy Spirit.


TCHS 15, Holt 0

Rainey allowed two hits, struck out nine and walked one in getting the win.

Ewing had four RBIs, Lindsey Turner had three RBIs and Lunceford two RBIs.

Aleca Rigsby hit a two-run home run.

Haley Thorpe absorbed the loss for Holt.



Bundy (6-6) gave up eight hits, walkeed six and struck out five for the win. Rainey had three RBIs.

Chandler Dare was 3-for-4 for ACA. Lashley Graham took the loss.
