ROUNDUP: North River Christian wins big


NORTHPORT | Michael Robertson had three hits and four RBIs as the North River Christian baseball team beat Chilton Academy 206- on Tuesday. Joseph Seale had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. John Mills had two hits and three RBIs, and both Taylor Stroup and Michael Davis had one hit.

Davis (1-1) was the winning pitcher. He pitched the complete game and allowed three hits, 10 walks and struck out 11.

HOOVER | Zach Evans singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Will Hassell with the game-winning run in pool play at the Hoover Tournament.

Four Wildcats (16-11), including Evans, hit singles. The others were Hassell, Ted Colburn and Hunter Rush.

Tyler Gates (5-1) was the winning pitcher. Gates pitched all seven innings. He struck out 13 and gave up two hits.

HOOVER | Austin Williams went 3-for-4 with two singles, a triple and two runs scored for the Patriots (13-12). Keith Holcombe hit 2-for-3, and Parker Barton hit 2-for-4.

Briarwood Christian 10

HOOVER | Matt Bost had the game-winning single , driving in Dillon Broughton in the bottom of the seventh inning. Bost hit 2-for-3, and Keith Holcomb was 2-for-4 with a double.

Austin Dickerson (1-0) was the winning pitcher, throwing 213 innings, striking our four and allowing two hits and no runs.
