ROUNDUP: Northside beats Gordo on hit in ninth


SAMANTHA | Cole Lee hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning as Northside beat Gordo 3-2 in baseball Saturday.

The winning pitcher for Northside (3-2-1) was Tanner Colburn, who pitched two innings and gave up a hit and two walks. Christian Savell pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and two runs and struck out three. Andrew Robertson, Lee, Hayden Long, Josh Hudson, Ash Bailey and Kyle Snider had hits for the Rams.

Gordo’s Bo McAteer was 3-for-4.

CENTREVILLE | Sipsey Valley’s Brady Holcomb hit a sacrifice fly to score Logan Averett in the eighth inning Saturday.

Collin Jolly, Landen Davis and Justin Thomas had hits for the Bears. Cody Mills (3-1) was the winning pitcher, going seven innings and allowing six hits and six strikeouts. Davis had the save.

CENTREVILLE | Sipsey Valley (9-5) trailed 8-1 after the fifth inning and scored 12 runs in the sixth for the win Saturday.

John Caleb Bigham was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Collin Jolly and Christian Callahan both had two hits.

Bigham (1-0) was the winning pitcher. He threw three innings and allowed one hit while striking out five.
