Tuscaloosa Academy opens with win

TUSCALOOSA | Winning pitcher Brittany Ledbetter gave up one run on one hit in three innings, striking out seven and walking one as the Knights opened their season with a win Tuesday.

Chassiti Kimbrell gave three runs on one hit and one walk and had five strikeouts in four innings for Tuscaloosa Academy.

Kimbrell, Ledbetter and MacKenzie Smelley each doubled. Ledbetter added a single, as did Kaci Cochran.
