GIRLS ROUNDUP: Holy Spirit beats Berry for title

TUSCALOOSA | Caroline Sisson scored 19 points, Tamera Giles had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Aeriel Winn had 10 points to lead the Holy Spirit Lady Titans to a 58-42 win Saturday over Berry in the AHSAA Class 1A, Area 8 tournament final.

Both teams advance to the subregional round.

Emma Herren led Berry with a game-high 23 points and also made seven steals. Taylor Jones had 14 points and grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds.

Thursday, Holy Spirit will play the loser of Monday’s Area 5 matchup between Keith and Autaugaville. Berry will play the winner of that game.

UNIONTOWN | The Yellow Jackets won Class 2A, Area 7 and will face Area 5 runner-up Choctaw County in a subregional game.

Winfield 65, Cordova 51

WINFIELD | Winfield won Class 3A, Area 14 and will face area 13 runner-up Good Hope in the subregional round.
