BOYS ROUNDUP: Tuscaloosa County gets 20th win

NORTHPORT | The Tuscaloosa County High School boys basketball team earned its 20th win of the season by defeating Hueytown 64-34 Monday.

Javel Bailey had 13 points to lead the Wildcats (20-6). Devonte’ Hall added 10 points, and Chris Gilliam scored nine.

TCHS will observe senior night at 7:30 tonight with a home game against Chilton County.


Sipsey Valley 64,

American Christian 60

TUSCALOOSA | Garret Lewis scored only two points for Bears, but they were big. He sank two foul shots in a one-and-one situation with 3.7 seconds left to clinch a victory.

Lewis had seven assists and three steals for Sipsey Valley (23-6). Rasheed Worrell led the the Bears with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Jamarius Leatherwood had 16 points, and Braylan Smith scored 14.

Carter McGill scored 18 points to lead ACA (19-7). Chris Mobley had 12 points.


Sumter Central 57, Northridge 48

TUSCALOOSA | Fred Seals scored 20 points as the Sumter Central Jaguars finished the regular season with a victory.

JyKwentin Johnson had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Jaguars (20-4).

Northridge’s C’yontai Lewis made three 3-point shots and finished with a game-high 26 points. Lewis had five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Bo Scarbrough had 10 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.


Northside 58, Oakman 50

OAKMAN | Zarrian Grant went 9 for 9 from the foul line and scored 33 points to lead the Rams.

Hayden Long made two 3-pointers and scored 13 points for Northside (12-9).


Bibb County 48,

Brookwood 37

BROOKWOOD | Buster Goode and Gerald Goode combined for 26 points in leading the Bibb County Choctaws.

Buster Goode led the Choctaws with 15 points. Gerald Goode scored 11. Brandon Rutledge added eight points.

Cody Gaither made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Brookwood (2-26). Dylan Hardeman hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points.

Brookwood will celebrate senior night at 7:30 tonight, hosting Gordo.


North River Christian 76,

Tabernacle Christian 62

TUSCALOOSA | The North River Christian Academy Chargers ran their record to 15-1.

LaCedrick Rice had 19 points for North River Christian. Michael Robertson had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Matt Robertson scored 14 points. Josh Harris had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jeremiah Cousette added 11 points.

North River Christian plays at Tuscaloosa Christian tonight.

Pickens County 77,

Greene County 67

REFORM | Devonte Simon scored 32 points, Bobby Bradford 20 and Terrien Steele 10 for the Tornadoes (15-7).

Brandon Williams led Greene County with 19 points. Devin Merriweather scored 15 andMontel Harkness 14.
