GIRLS ROUNDUP: Tuscaloosa Academy makes Elite 8

SELMA | Tuscaloosa Academy’s girls basketball team advanced to the AISA Class AAA Elite 8 with a 52-36 win against Monroe Academy on Saturday in the Region 2 tournament.
Krissy Pruitt scored 23 of her 25 points in the second half. Kaci Cohran scored 14 points. The Lady Knights (22-7) will play Glenwood Academy at 6 p.m. Friday in Montgomery.
Holy Spirit 62,
American Christian 40
TUSCALOOSA | On Friday, Holy Spirit (19-6) was led by Tamera Giles with 24 points. Caroline Sisson scored 23, including seven 3-pointers.
American Christian Academy’s Ally English scored 11 points.
Holy Spirit starts area tournament play Friday against Pickens County at Berry.

Lowndes Academy 28
CAMDEN | In the AISA Class AA, Region 2 title game Saturday, Pickens Academy was led by eighth-grader Kacy Noland with 13 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The score was 46-12 at end of third quarter.
Also for Pickens Academy, Marion Colvin had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Pickens Academy (19-3) plays in the Elite 8 on Thursday at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
Elisabeth Hankins, Noland and Colvin made the all-tournament team. Colvin was MVP.
