GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Freshman leads Tuscaloosa County in rout of Holt

HOLT | Freshman Katie Krout scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Kendra Conner scored 16 points in leading Tuscaloosa County (13-13) to a 43-14 win over Holt in high school girls basketball Friday night.
Holt was led by Aliyah Howard with five points.
Lamar County 48, Haleyville 35
HALEYVILLE | Malika Swanigan led Lamar County (16-4) with 15 points in the team’s win over Haleyville.
Kelsey Myles added 14 points.
Alli Orear led Haleyville with 11 points.
On Thursday, Lamar County took a 40-23 win over Marion County. Swanigan scored 12 points.
Greensboro 65, Akron 60
AKRON | Elexis Evans had a double double with 24 points and 11 rebounds in Greensboro’s win over Akron.
Malesha Williams finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals for Greensboro (18-6).
Akron’s Valencia McCain had 19 points while Dequandra Lyles had 17.
Northside 46, Oak Grove 29
SAMANTHA | On Senior Night, Northside’s lone senior led the way when Ashton Welborn scored a game-high 25 points in the Northside win over Oak Grove.
Ryleigh Malone added 12 points.
Oak Grove’s Melody Martin scored 14.
Brookwood 65, Hale County 30
BROOKWOOD | Brookwood won 65-30 at home against Hale County. Caitlin Headrick scored 19 and Benita Lee nine for Brookwood.
For Hale County, Tamera Croxton scored nine and Savanna Holmes had six.
Berry 56, Oakman 15
BERRY | Karlie Milligan scored 14 points and Emma Herren had 10 points, six assists and five steals in a lopsided 56-15 win by Berry (22-5, 7-1) against Oakman.
Berry now awaits its opponent Thursday at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts the AHSAA Class 1A, Area 8 tournament.
