GIRLS ROUNDUP: Central holds off Tuscaloosa County

TUSCALOOSA | The Central girls basketball team beat Tuscaloosa County 50-42 Saturday.
Central’s (19-4) Toborsha Holley scored 16 points, Lawanda Maddix had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Shawntayla Harris had 14 points and eight rebounds and D’Leisha Dent had 12 rebounds and four points.
Central is a win away from claiming the AHSAA Class 5A, Area 7 championship.
The scoring leaders for Tuscaloosa County were Kendra Conner with 17 and Shakirra Thomas with 13 points.

TUSCALOOSA | Tamera Giles scored 18 points and Victoria Lavender eight to lead Holy Spirit (19-6).
Tuscaloosa Academy 47,
Fort Dale Academy 28
TUSCALOOSA | No. 9 Tuscaloosa Academy (19-6) was led by Krissy Pruitt’s 29 points.
Fort Dale, which dropped out of the AISA top 10 last week, was led by Anne Matthews 14 points, 10 of which came from free throws.
Greene County 45,
Pickens County 33
EUTAW | Ashley Wynn scored 14 points and Nichole Vester 12 to lead Greene County (6-10) on Friday.
Tyneithia Lanier led Pickens County with 13 points.
