South Lamar boys beat Hackleburg

MILLPORT | JyDarren Cox and Holden Fields combined for 36 points and 22 rebounds Wednesday in leading the South Lamar High School boys basketball team to a 58-52 victory over Hackleburg.

Cox led all scorers with 20 points and collected nine rebounds. Fields, who scored 16 points, led the Stallions with 13 rebounds. Dave Cole had 11 points and six rebounds.

Hackleburg’s Braydon Shaffer had 14 points.

South Lamar plays today in the Lamar County Tournament at Sulligent High School. The Stallions will face Lamar County.

American Christian 59, Holy Spirit 27

TUSCALOOSA | Collin Crowe led the Patriots with 20 points Tuesday.

Parker Dare scored nine points for ACA, and Raquir Black had seven rebounds.

American Christian Academy (12-5) will play at Holt on Friday.
