BOYS ROUNDUP: Holland leads Stampede past Bibb County

CENTREVILLE | Kevin Holland scored 14 points and collected three steals Thursday, and the Paul W. Bryant High School boys basketball team defeated Bibb County 59-35.

James Currington had 11 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots for Paul W. Bryant (19-3). Marcus Anthony dished out seven assists.

Bibb County’s Jerrell Goode had 12 points, and Buster Goode scored 10.

Paul W. Bryant plays at home tonight against Brookwood in a Class 5A, Area 7 game.


South Lamar 61, Berry 45

BERRY | Holden Fields had 16 points and 10 rebounds as the South Lamar Stallions defeated Berry in a Class 1A, Area 8 game.

Jydarren Cox had 16 points for South Lamar (6-7, 1-2). Cox made four 3-point shots and had four assists. Dade Cole had 11 points.

Berry (5-11, 1-4) was led by Weston Bonner with 14 points. Neil Sullivan scored 10 points, and Maken Potter grabbed 12 rebounds.

Berry plays at home tonight against Hubbertville. South Lamar plays at home Monday against Hackleburg.


Fayette County 62, Northside 44

SAMANTHA | Fayette County was led by Will Redmond with 14 points and Keyon Jones with 10.

Northside’s Zarrian Grant led the way with 23 points and Tanner Colburn had eight points.

Northside (7-6) will face American Christian Academy tonight 6:30.


Holy Spirit 51, Hubbertville 44

HUBBERTVILLE | Jordan Giles scored 16 points and Kam Swift added 11 as Holy Spirit beat Hubbertville in a Class 1A, Area 8 game.

Vess Benton had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Hubbertville (4-7, 1-3). McKain Hubbert and David Aldridge scored 10 points each for the Lions.
