GIRLS ROUNDUP: Tuscaloosa Academy routs Tuscaloosa Christian

TUSCALOOSA | Addison Harrison scored 12 points in leading the Tuscaloosa Academy girls basketball team to a 45-14 win against Tuscaloosa Christian on Monday.

Lilly Sansing added 11 points for Tuscaloosa Academy.

Savannah Logan led Tuscaloosa Christian with eight points.

The Lady Knights play in the Tuscaloosa Academy Invitational on Friday, facing Wayne Academy of Mississippi at 6 p.m. Morgan Academy plays Patrician Academy at 3. The consolation game will be at 1 p.m. Saturday with the championship game starting at 4.



Hueytown 53,

Tuscaloosa County 40

HUEYTOWN | Camillia Carter made all 10 of her free throws and scored 19 points for Hueytown (5-2).

Freshman Katie Krout led Tuscaloosa County (7-1) with her fifth straight double-double as she scored 27 points and collected 11 rebounds.


Marengo Academy 40, Clarke Prep 11

GROVE HILL | The Marengo Academy Lady Longhorns ran their record to 8-0.

Marengo Academy’s Chandler Stenz had nine points and four assists. Katie Tucker had nine points and three steals. Brooke Smyly added eight points, and Andrea Edmonds had 11 rebounds. Anna Michael Crocker recorded five assists and three steals.

Clarke Prep’s Natalie Overstreet had four points.

Marengo Academy hosts Southern Academy tonight.

GORDO | Tyneithia Lanier had 10 points, eight steals and five rebounds in Pickens County’s win over Gordo.

Kailyandria Lanier had eight points, 10 steals and seven rebounds.

SULLIGENT | Hannah Hampton scored 24 points in leading the Lady Blue Devils.

Laura Dean added 18 points for Sulligent (3-4). Jessica Pope scored 14 points.

South Lamar’s Mallorie Shaw and Michelle Hawkins scored six points each.
