BOYS ROUNDUP: Greensboro routs Northridge


GREENSBORO | Donald King and Kavoris Owens combined for 31 points Monday in leading the Greensboro High School boys basketball team to a 76-49 victory over Northridge.

King had 18 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals to help the Raiders improve to 2-1. Owens had 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Jamarcus Gray had five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Jimmie Taylor, a 6-foot-9 senior who has signed with the University of Alabama, had six points, 15 rebounds, five blocked shots and three steals.

C’yontai Lewis had 19 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots for Northridge (2-4). Teboris Leatherwood had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Northridge plays at Mountain Brook tonight. Greensboro plays Hale County in Moundville on Friday.

 

Tuscaloosa Academy 49, Restoration Academy 25

TUSCALOOSA | Carter Standeffer scored 12 points and Harrison Standeffer had nine for the Knights.

Mike Calhoun scored nine points for Restoration Academy.

Tuscaloosa Academy (3-0) plays at home tonight, facing East Memorial Christian Academy at 7:30.

 

South Lamar 74,

Brilliant 62

MILLPORT | Marquis Mitchell made four 3-pointers, scored 31 points and collected four steals in South Lamar’s win.

David Cole had 21 points, five rebounds and a steal for the Stallions. Holden Fields had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Chance Key scored 26 points to lead Brilliant. Riley Cole had 12 points.

South Lamar plays Thursday night against Lamar County in Vernon.
